Our story
“Nobody sat me down and explained this business. So I explain it.”
I spent 27 years in rooms most people never get into — negotiating more than $300 million in contracts, sitting with families, telling young men the truth when it was not what they wanted to hear.
The people asking me how to get in were not short on ability. They were short on someone willing to show them the mechanics. I teach The Compass live because that conversation only works when it is a conversation.

27 years representing NBA players and $300 million in contracts negotiated. The questions that kept arriving were never about talent. They were about how to get in.
Why Compass now
The answer became a programme: what he had been explaining one person at a time, taught live to a cohort, six weeks at a time.
Where it began — 2019
Elite Mentoring Foundation
A registered 501(c)(3) non-profit, started in 2019
Long before The Compass, Roger started Elite Mentoring Foundation in 2019 — a 501(c)(3) set up for one reason: young people kept asking how to build a life in sport, and there was nobody in their world to answer.
The Compass is that same room, opened wider — a real person answering a real question.

The basketball roots behind the mission
Mentoring
One-to-one time with people that want personal attention — real answers, from someone who has done the job.
Access
Introductions, rooms and conversations usually reserved for people already inside — the same doors The Compass community keeps open.
Opportunity
Practical help toward the next step — study, work experience, a first real contact.

Real guidance, in the room
Joining The Compass keeps that work going — the programme and the foundation pull in the same direction.
Roger’s own wording and any share of fees directed to the foundation still to be confirmed.
